With an affinity for the uncanny, grotesque and surreal, Liz Hermanson produces work addressing the subconscious and its associations with isolation, social phobias, and nightmares. Drawing upon diverse sources to explore our aesthetic lives, both waking and unconscious, Hermanson forges a world full of mirrors reflecting a stranger, more robust experience of being than our defined, pragmatic world view allows.

Hermanson received her BFA in studio art at The University of Texas at Austin in 2013 where she studied printmaking, with her focus on etching and engraving.

The artist resides and works in Austin, TX and works predominantly with intaglio printmaking as drawing in ink and graphite. She is a member of

Slugfest Printmaking Workshop and Gallery.
